Prof. Usha K. Aravind

Prof. Usha K. Aravind is a Professor at the School of Environmental Studies, CUSAT. Her core expertise lies in green technologies, with a special focus on nanomembranes for water and wastewater treatment, low-pressure filtration systems, and advanced oxidation processes for pollutant degradation. She has over 16 years of teaching experience in analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, membrane technology, and bio-energy. Prof. Aravind’s research also spans emerging contaminants in aquatic and indoor environments, protein-based sensors, and protein–environment interactions. She has an extensive publication record with more than 100 journal papers and over 260 conference publications in reputed national and international forums. She has successfully led and contributed to numerous major funded research projects supported by DST, UGC, SPARC, KSCSTE, RUSA, and international agencies. Prof. Aravind has been consistently recognised in the World Scientist and University Rankings by the AD Scientific Index in recent years. Her work makes significant contributions to sustainable water technologies, environmental remediation, and applied environmental chemistry.
