Prof. Jiju P. Alex

Prof. Jiju P. Alex is currently a Member of the Kerala State Planning Board and a faculty member at the Kerala Agricultural University. He previously served as the Director of Extension at the University and began his professional career as a scientist with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research under the Agricultural Research Service. Dr. Alex is an alumnus of Kerala Agricultural University and holds a doctoral degree from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He has also served on deputation as Head of the Human Resource Development Division of the Information Kerala Mission. His areas of expertise include agriculture and rural development, democratic decentralisation, technology–society interface, innovation and entrepreneurship development, human resource development, and e-governance. He played a key role in designing the training methodology for e-governance programmes of local self-government institutions. Dr. Alex has led several research projects, published extensively, guided doctoral scholars, and participated in national and international conferences. At the State Planning Board, he currently handles portfolios related to decentralisation, housing, and art and culture.
